Pastoral Care

House Coordinators with the Homeroom Teachers attend to the day to day pastoral care of the students. The College also has a School Counsellor and a Chaplain. Students and parents may seek appointments as needed.
Pastoral care is also given within College lessons. This reflects our commitment to the development of those skills needed to critique the values of society.
Issues that are addressed include:

  • Thinking skills and study techniques
  • Drug education
  • Adolescence as a time of change and development
  • Self concept and self esteem
  • Personal development and the nature of friendships

Pastoral Care is not just about developing self-awareness. It is also about developing an awareness and consideration of the needs of others.
Our students are involved in a range of community service activities such as:

  • Collecting for charities and fundraising
  • Volunteer work
  • Youth work in local parishes (eg YCS, Antioch Movement)
  • St Vincent de Paul
  • Rotary, Interact, Amnesty International
