Australian Football League (AFL)
Description: The College fields Teams in a number of competitions in the Senior (Years 11 – 12) and Junior Level (Years 8 – 10).
Activities Two major Competitions:
- West Brisbane District Round Robin Twilight Carnival Term One.
- West Brisbane District Schoolgirls competition played on a Monday afternoon between 4pm – 5pm in late Term Three and early Term Four.
Commitment / training times and places Training is usually during Lunchtimes on Taringa Soccer Oval. Equipment Boots if possible, but not compulsory. Availability All year levels. Uniform Appropriate training gear. College supplies Jerseys for competitions.
Athletics
Description: A College Athletics Team participates in an interschool competition. The team consists of: 10 sprinters, 6 middle - long distance runners, 2-6 throwers and 3-4 jumpers (high and long) for each age group.
Activities Major athletics carnival is the Catholic Girls Secondary Carnival held at QEII each year. Commitment/Training times and place Sprints: various lunchtimes plus Wednesday sport time (1.15 - 2.30) Distance:Monday and Friday mornings before school plus Wednesday sport time (1.15 - 2.30) Throwers & Jumpers: each lunch hour plus Wednesday sport time (12.45 - 2.30) Equipment Appropriate running footwear; spikes optional (tartan). Availability All year levels. Uniform Appropriate training gear required for training sessions and singlets issued for competition.

Basketball
Description There are two competitions which the College participates in: 1. Wednesday Interschool Sport (8-10 weeks duration). 2. Wednesday afterschool versus teams from a variety of Catholic and non-Catholic private girls schools. Activities 1. Wednesday Interschool versus teams from Corinda, Kenmore, Oxley, Toowong, Nyandra, Glenala and Indooroopilly State High Schools. 2. BSGSA Sport (Term 1 on Wednesdays from 4-5 pm). Played on a home and away basis. Generally 6-7 weeks duration. Girls catch a mini-bus (and meet cost) or parents provide transport. (This is dependent upon staff/teacher availability.) Commitment/Training times and places Training in MPC either before school or at lunchtime. (Exact time depending on teacher/coach availability.) Equipment Supplied by the school. Availability All students Years 8-12. Uniform Singlets provided from BSGSA competition.

Cricket
Description A bat and ball game played by two teams, each of eleven players. Teams consist of players with skills for batting, bowling, fielding and/or wicket keeping. The game is played with a regulation cricket ball. Competition Qld Schoolgirls Cricket Association - Division 1 competition. Commitment/Training times and place 2-3 training sessions per week consisting of fielding/batting. Competition games are held one afternoon per week after school during Terms 1 and 4. Equipment Supplied by school. Availability The College team is open to students from all year levels. Uniform Sports uniform.

Cross Country
Description The College has a Cross Country Team which consists of 12 competitors per age group. Activities Major Cross Country Carnival is the Catholic Girls Carnival held at Limestone Park, Ipswich each year. Brigidine also hosts an annual Invitational Cross Country meet held here at Brigidine (NTI Trophy). Commitment/Training times and place Training is available each morning at 7.30 am (except Wednesday) and a number of lunchtimes depending on teacher availability. Also Wednesday sport time (12.45 - 2.30 pm). Equipment Appropriate footwear. Availability Open to all year levels. Uniform Appropriate training gear. Singlets are issued for competitions.

Futsal
Description The College fields a number of Senior, Intermediate and Junior Futsal Teams (each team has approximately 8 girls). Commitment / Training Times and Place Lunchtimes, before and after school, depending on teacher availability (in College MPC hall). Equipment Appropriate footwear. Availability All year levels. Uniform Appropriate Training gear for training sessions. Uniforms issued for competitions.

Hockey
Description There are two competitions in which the College participates:
- Wednesday Interschool Sport (8-10 weeks duration - winter fixtures).
- Wednesday afterschool versus teams from Catholic and non-Catholic girls schools.
Activities
- Wednesday Interschool versus teams from Corinda, Kenmore, Oxley, Toowong, Nyandra, Glenala and Indooroopilly State High Schools.
- BSGSA Sport (Term 1 on Wednesdays from 4-5 pm). Generally 6-7 weeks duration. Girls catch the train or parents provide transportation.
Commitment/Training times and place Training either before school or at lunchtime. (Exact time depending on teacher/ coach availability.) Equipment Own hockey stick is useful. Shin guards and mouthguards are compulsory. Availability All students years 8-12. Uniform College sports uniform.

Netball
Description There are three competitions in which the College participates:
- Wednesday Interschool Sport (8-10 weeks duration)
- BSGSA Wednesday afterschool competition - 4-5 pm Downey Park. Year 8 team, Year 9 and 10 team, Year 11 and 12 team. Teams compete against other Catholic and non-Catholic girls schools. (This is dependant upon staff and teacher availability.)
- MAZDA Cup - knockout competition played after school on a home and away basis.
Activities and Availability
- Wednesday afternoon interschool (against state schools). Junior, Intermediate and Senior Teams versus teams from Corinda, Kenmore, Oxley, Toowong, Nyandra, Glenala and Indooroopilly State High Schools.
- BSGSA sport (Term 2 on Wednesdays from 4-5 pm). Played at Downey Park. Generally 6-7 weeks duration. Girls catch the train (and meet cost) or parents provide transport. One training session a week during lunch hour.
- MAZDA Cup State Netball Knockout Competition. Played by Senior BSGSA Team. One training session a week at a mutually agreed time and play Wednesday BSGSA competition at Downey Park.
Equipment Supplied by school. Uniform Sports uniform.

Soccer
Description (Indoor and Outdoor) Soccer has two branches. The outdoor game and the indoor game (Futsal). Outdoor generally runs all of Terms 2 and 3. Futsal runs Terms 1, 3 and 4. Activities Outdoor - Class Image Cup; ISSA Cup; BSGSA Cup; UHL Sport Cup Indoor - West Moreton Group; Qld State Titles; National Titles; Vikings Cup; Chantelle Cramb Cup; Womens Challenge Series #1-5 Commitment/Training times and place Outdoor - Twice a week - before school or lunchtimes at Taringa Oval. Indoor - 2-3 times a week - before school and at lunchtimes in the MPC. Equipment Shin pads, soccer boots/indoor shoes. Availability Outdoor - 1 Junior Team, 1 Senior Team Indoor - 1 Junior Team, 2 Intermediate Teams, 2 Senior Teams Uniform Supplied by the College.

Swimming
Description The College Swim Team consists of 8-12 swimmers per age group (including 8 freestyle; 2 backstroke; 2 breaststroke and 2 butterfly events per age group). Activities Major carnival is the Catholic Girls Secondary Carnival held at Chandler Aquatic Centre each year. Commitment/Training times and place Each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday morning 7.15 - 8.00 am plus Wednesday options time 12.40 - 2.30 pm. Equipment Goggles if required. Availability Open to all year levels. Uniform College swimmers preferred. Swim cap provided.

Tennis
Description The College provides tennis at three levels: a competition for students within the College; a competition competing during Wednesday Interschool Sport time; and the QCLTA competition. A College Tennis Team participates in the QCLTA competition. The teams consists of five players at five different grades. Competition College competition - Junior and Senior singles/doubles championships. Wednesday Interschool Sport competition. Catholic Secondary Schools Competition run by QCLTA. Commitment/Training times and place QCLTA - A, B and C (Years 10, 11 and 12) grades Saturday afternoon. D and E (Years 8 and 9) grades Saturday morning. Competition runs from mid February to 30 June. Training involves attendance at two sessions per week with your own team. Equipment Own racquet required. Availability College Competition and Wednesday Interschool - open to all students. QCLTA - Trials are held to select College team. Everyone must be available for semi-finals and finals. ALL finals are played on a Saturday morning. Uniform College Competition and Wednesday Interschool - sports uniform. QCLTA - Sports uniform is required for training. A white skirt and yellow poloshirt (purchased from the uniform shop) is required for Saturday competition.

Description There are two competitions in which the College participates:

- BSGSA Sport (Wednesday from 4-5 pm). Played at Finsbury Park. Generally 6-7 weeks duration. Girls catch a train or parents provide transport.

Triathlon
Description In Term 4 the College is involved in the Brisbane West Region Triathlon competition. Activities A number of competitions are held leading up to the Regional Championships held at Wivenhoe Dam, usually in the first week of the Christmas holidays. Commitment/Training Training is offered before school (usually in conjunction with Swim Squad training), and also during Wednesday options time 12.40 - 2.30 pm. Equipment Running gear, swimmers and if possible a bike and helmet. Costs are applicable for competition events. Availability All year levels. Girls may compete individually or in teams of three. Uniform College running shirt and swimmers.

Water Polo
Description College fields a Senior (Years 11 – 12) and Junior team (Years 8 – 10) in the Brisbane Water Polo Club Competition. Activities College participates with other schools and clubs in the Brisbane Water Polo Competition held on a Saturday morning, held in Terms One and Four. Commitment / Training Times and Place Training is after school, usually two times per week at Gregory Terrace pool. Equipment College swimmers, school supplies cap. Availability All year levels available for selection Uniform School togs for competitions.
