OPENING OF THE SOPHIA CENTRE
The new Counselling Centre was blessed by Fr Pan and officially opened by Sister Dorothy recently. It has been named The Sophia Centre. "Sophia" is a Greek word for wisdom personified.
Sr Dorothy said "It is very fitting that the new Counselling Centre is being called The Sophia Centre because it is, and will continue to be, a very special place where young women can grow in wisdom and understanding of themselves and others and be supported by wise female mentoring."

DEVELOPMENTS IN 2010
Across Borders 2010
For the fourth consecutive year, ten Year 10 and Year 11 students and two staff members from Brigidine College will be involved in the "Across Borders" cultural immersion experience in September this year. Students spend seven days in a secondary rural school in the Zulu homelands teaching IT skills and learning about African culture. They also work in an orphanage in Gingindlovu, engaging the children
in recreational activities. The relationships that are built are the most significant outcome of the experience. Across Border is all about family, connectedness, faith and justice. The friendships that are established live on in the hearts of all who have had the privilege of being part of this immersion.

Enrolment Information
- Currently enrolments are being accepted from students in Grade 5 for Year 8 2013 and from students in Grade 4 for Year 8 2014. It is essential for parents who already have daughters in the school to also put in enrolment applications early to avoid disappointment. Enrolments for other year levels should contact the College to enquire about vacancies.
- A wait list is operating for Year 8 2011 and Year 8 2012. The Principal, Ms Neumann, would like to encourage prospective parents and students that changes to enrolment do occur and those on waiting lists often have very good chances
of being accepted into the College when these changes are processed.
