Year 8 Parent Information

• Congratulations to Marlena Litchfield (Year 8 2008). She has received a "special merit" in the calendar category for MLTAQ (Modern Language Teachers' Association of Queensland) writing competition.

Forthcoming Events

• First Day of School for Year 8s 2009– Wednesday, 28th January 2009  School begins at 8:30 am. You should arrive by 8:15 am.  Wear your sports uniform, including the sports cap.  Bring togs, towel, swimming cap, sunscreen and water bottle.  Bring some of your books so that your bag won’t be too heavy the next day. You will not be doing regular school work on the first day.  You will meet your Home Room teacher and Home Room class and you will be given some information about the timetable, lockers, subjects, etc.  Each student is assigned a locker for which you need to provide a padlock with 2 keys. One key is given to your Home Room teacher as a spare key to be kept at school.  During the morning, you will meet your Year 12 Big Sister who will join you for some activities after morning tea.  At morning tea, welcome cake will be provided to share.  At lunchtime, there will be a B-B-Q for the Year 8 and Year 12 students to share.  Before you are dismissed at 3:10 pm, teachers will make sure that you know how to get home.  We know you will have a memorable first day.
