INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR PEACE

September 15 @ 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
How we treat each other and the earth are tightly interwoven into the fabric of the Brigidine charism.  We hear about conflicts every day in the news.  At the moment, Syria is uppermost in everyone’s mind. There is a groundswell among young people to create awareness to bring change to our world; to bring PEACE.  The International Day of Prayer for Peace which is held annually on 21 September focuses the attention of being the change we want to see in the world.  Become peacemakers in our own community in the hope of peace in the world. As 70% of the two billion poor in the world are women, our commitment to the option for the poor is a key to Catholic social teaching. It’s vital that our young Brigidine women are conscious of this fact and initiate action for peace. The College is strong on academic performances but gentle in the spirit of the Brigidine Sisters.  In that spirit, raising awareness about important social justice issues is embedded in the philosophy of the school. Peace, compassion and justice are our core values. The College will celebrate the International Day of Prayer for Peace on the last day of Term 3 - Friday 15 September 2017. "Peace be with you" .... the images show the whole College creating the sign of peace in 2013! Remember?
