Christmas is an exciting and special time of the year. Many people use the festive season to gather as a family; surrounded by food, presents and laughter. For others, it can be a stressful time as they face adversity and perhaps are struggling financially.

Staff at Brigidine College love to spread joy by blessing others. Over the last few weeks, they have generously donated gift packs filled to the brim with cosmetics for the Women’s Crisis Support Service. Students gathered this week during their lunch break to assemble the packs.

Women’s Crisis Support Service Inc. (formally Ipswich Women’s Shelter) has been assisting women and women with children escaping domestic violence for 40 years.

Throughout the year, our Enterprise Education students created mini businesses and held a number of stalls which raised over $600. These funds were used to purchase gift cards to add to the cosmetic gift packs to bless others. Students also wrote letters of encouragement which were placed in the packs.

“Discover the joy of giving and you will discover the reason for living.”

Thank you to Diana Chambers and Kerrin Meinhardt for driving this initiative, and to Mellisa White and the Enterprise Education students.
